Cobra Museum for Modern Art - Amstelveen

For devotees of Modern Art a visit to the Cobra Museum in Amstelveen is an absolute must. This wonderful museum, opened in 1995, is dedicated to Modern Art from 1945, particularly the international Cobra movement, represented by major works by Karel Appel, Eugène Brands, Constant, Corneille, Lucebert, Asger Jorn and Pierre Alechinsky. The museum also has an important collection of works by Armando, Willy Boers, Ger Gerrits and Frieda Hunziker, who all belong to a group of Dutch artists known as ?Vrij Beelden en Creatie?. The Cobra Museum also organises exhibitions of contemporary art.
